Women's Soccer fell 3–0 on the road to NJCAA Division I opponent Mohave College, dropping to 1–1 on the season. Despite the loss, the Pumas showed strong composure through the first half, and gained valuable experience heading into ACCAC Division II play.

"It's always tough to get off the bus after a four-hour trip and immediately compete," said Head Coach Ernie Santa Cruz. "But I was pleased with the overall performance of the team. We had a strong first half and kept the game level at 0–0."

The Pumas held off Mohave's attack through the opening 45 minutes, anchored by a six-save performance from goalkeeper Sydney King, who faced 14 shots on goal throughout the match. Offensively, the Pumas generated four shots, including on-target efforts from Nevaeh VillegasKarely Quinonez, and Diane Williams.

Mohave broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, and added two more goals in the second half to secure the win.

"We'll now regroup and focus on getting everyone ready for conference play," Santa Cruz added.

The Pumas will open ACCAC Division II regular season play on the road against Mesa Community College on Saturday, September 6, with kickoff set for 5:45pm.
