SANTA CRUZ NAMED NEW WOMEN'S SOCCER HEAD COACH

Puma Athletics is excited to introduce Ernie Santa Cruz as the new Women's Soccer head coach.  Santa Cruz will assume duties with the program immediately.   

Over the past 15 years Santa Cruz has coached for several club and high school programs throughout the valley while also working at the Director level for multiple clubs. Santa Cruz is currently the Director of Coaching and College Recruitment for the Arizona Storm FC, as well as the Verrado High School girls varsity head coach. 

Santa Cruz led the Arizona Storm FC to the club's first state title in 2023 while coaching the 2005 Girls. Following their state championship, Santa Cruz led the 2005 Girls to the Far West Regionals in Boise, ID where they were quarter finalists. 

During his time at the club level, Santa Cruz has helped guide numerous players through the college recruitment process. Those players have played at every level from Division 1 to Junior College.

Santa Cruz has four children: Jordan, Marissa, Diego, and Alina.  He resides in Litchfield Park with his wife Michelle.
