The Pumas showed grit and determination in their matchup against the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes but ultimately fell short, losing 7-1. The Pumas came out strong in the first half, creating several dangerous chances going into the half down 2-1.  The intense Arizona heat became a factor in the second half as the team struggled to maintain their early momentum.

The Pumas lone goal came in the 23rd minute when forward Holly Palomo broke through Chandler-Gilbert's defensive line to set up Sarah Barsalou for the goal.

However, as the game wore on, the combination of rising temperatures and the relentless pressure from Chandler-Gilbert began to take its toll. The Pumas fought hard to keep their defensive shape, but a late surge from the Coyotes in the second half proved too much to overcome.

"We had a strong first half, and I was proud of how the team fought through the conditions," said Head Coach Uri. "Unfortunately, the heat was a major factor in the second half, and it affected our ability to maintain the same level of intensity. But we'll regroup and come back stronger."

The Pumas return to action on Thursday, October 10, for a 2:00 game vs Phoenix College at home.
