Victor Solis joined the Pumas in 2007 to help start their new Baseball program, whose inaugural season was in spring 2009. 

Born in Douglas, AZ, Solis graduated from Brophy College Preparatory.  He attended Glendale Community College and was a member of their baseball program.  After completing two years at GCC, Solis attended Grand Canyon University where the Antelopes competed in the National Championships during his senior year. 

Solis started his coaching career at his alma matres, Brophy and GCC.  After three years of coaching baseball at Brophy and GCC, Solis attended Oklahoma City University where he served as an assistant coach and graduated with his MBA.  Solis’ coaching career also includes five years at the University of Arizona and two years at the United States Military Academy at West Point.  Solis also helped start the baseball program at GateWay Community College, where he was prior to joining PVCC. 

Solis was named the head coach for the USA Junior National Team (18 and under) in the summer of 2007.  The USA Junior Nation Team competed in the Pan American Games in Ixtapa, Mexico winning the Bronze medal, thus qualifying the USA Junior Nation Team for the World Championships in the summer of 2008. 

Solis resides in Phoenix with his wife, Alice, and son, Alejandro.
