ALWINE WINS RAWLINGS GOLD GLOVE AWARD

ALWINE WINS RAWLINGS GOLD GLOVE AWARD

It was announced today that Puma infielder Jake Alwine is a winner of the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award®. This award is given annually by Rawlings in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Nine players at the Division II level were so honored for their outstanding defensive play during the 2024 season. Alwine was the only awardee from the ACCAC.

In 2024 Alwine posted a .946 fielding percentage in 54 games for the Pumas. He had 114 assists and posted 62 put out on the season. Alwine started at three different positions for the Pumas throughout the season, he had 12 starts at shortstop, 20 starts at third base, and 21 starts at second base.

Nominations for the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards® are determined by each division's respective committee. Student-Athletes must be nominated by their respective district to be eligible for the awards.

Alwine is the fourth Puma in program history to receive this award. Infielder Josh Bristyan won the award in 2017 and 2018, outfielder Brick Paskiewicz won the award in 2014 and shortstop Shaun McCarty received the award in 2012.
