Game 1: GWCC 4, PVCC 11

Pumas Nab Win Over Geckos

The Pumas weathered a push by GateWay in the second inning where the Pumas coughed up three runs, but they still won 11-4 on Tuesday.

The Pumas took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Anthony Marcon doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Tyler McCaughey singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Jace Caito-Derosier singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Noah Burgarello singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Colton McIntosh pitched the Pumas to victory. The righthander surrendered four runs on six hits over six innings, striking out four. Danny Carpenter threw one inning in relief.

The Pumas totaled ten hits in the game. Derek Wood, McCaughey, and Burgarello each collected two hits to lead the team offensively.

 

Game 2: GWCC 7, PVCC 5

Pumas Falls To the Geckos

Up 3-2 at the top of the fifth, the Pumas were unable to comeback after giving up three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Logan Birch led things off on the hill for the Pumas. The righthander went four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out one. Jonathan Hyman, Brady Welch, and Michael Modrick each contributed in relief for the Pumas.

The Pumas racked up 11 hits on the day. Isaac George, Michael Keevins, and Noah Burgarello all had two hits to lead the Pumas.
