Game 1: EAC 3, PVCC 2

Pumas Fall to EAC after Fifth Inning Score

The Pumas lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to EAC on Saturday. The game was tied at one with EAC batting in the top of the fifth when the Gila Monsters singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

The pitching was strong on both sides. EAC pitchers struck out seven, while the Pumas sat down five.

Mason Dillow was on the mound for the Pumas. The righty surrendered three runs on four hits over five innings, striking out two. Danny Carpenter threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Tyler McCaughey led the Pumas with two hits in four at bats.

 

Game 2: EAC 10, PVCC 11

Paige's Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending in Puma Victory Over EAC 

A walk-off single led the Pumas past EAC 11-10 on Saturday. The game was tied at 10 with the Pumas batting in the bottom of the eighth when Jacob Paige singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. 

The Pumas collected eight hits and EAC had 13 in the high-scoring affair. 

After EAC scored two runs in the top of the fifth, the Pumas answered with two of their own when Mike Keevins homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Brady Welch was the winning pitcher for the Pumas. The right-hander went one-third of an inning, allowing zero runs on one hit and walking zero. Brock Arnold, Michael Modrick, and Danny Carpenter all put in work in relief, steering their team towards the victory.

Colby Davis started the game for the Pumas.  He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and two runs

The Pumas racked up eight hits. Colton McIntosh and Ike George each had two hits on the day to lead the Pumas.
