Puma Athletics has announced a coaching staff transition ahead of the 2025–26 golf season. Corey Leintz, who served as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's golf teams during the 2024–25 campaign, has been promoted to head coach of both programs. Longtime head coach Kurt Brown will remain an integral part of the staff, stepping into an assistant coaching role to continue supporting the teams' ongoing development.

Leintz joined the Puma Athletics programs with a strong foundation built through mentorship under Encanto Golf Course's Head Professional Mike Swartz and Coach Brown. Their leadership and example gave Leintz firsthand insight into the dedication, strategy, and culture required to succeed at every level of the game. During his time alongside Brown and within the Puma program, Leintz grew into a passionate advocate for student-athlete development, both on and off the course.

In spring 2024, Leintz became an associate with the PGA Southwest Section, further deepening his knowledge and involvement in the sport. His commitment to building a strong and supportive team environment has already made a lasting impression on the program's student-athletes.

A native of Leavenworth, KS, Leintz was a four-sport athlete during his youth and is a proud graduate of Kansas State University. His background in multi-sport athletics brings a well-rounded and competitive perspective to his coaching approach.

"We're excited to have Corey step into this new leadership role," said Athletic Director Christina Hundley. "His energy, professionalism, and connection with our student-athletes make him the right choice to carry on and build upon the strong foundation Coach Brown has established."

Leintz brings a clear vision to his new role: to foster individual growth while driving collective team success. When he's not coaching, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling to top golf destinations with friends.

As the 2025–26 season approaches, the Puma Men's and Women's Golf programs look ahead with optimism and confidence under Leintz's direction and with Brown's continued mentorship anchoring the coaching staff.
