FIVE STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARDS
On April 30 the Student Leadership Council and The Office of Student Life and Leadership presented the Student Leadership Awards to outstanding PVCC students at the Annual Student Recognition Celebration. Five Puma student-athletes were among those recognized at this year's celebration.
Puma Paw Student Leader Awards were bestowed upon two freshmen (one male/one female) student-athletes and two sophomore (one male/one female) student-athletes. The Student Leader Award is reserved for students who demonstrate superior college and/or community involvement.
Freshmen Student-Athlete of the Year: Onora Farney (Soccer) and Nathan Nitschke (Track & Field).

Major: Nursing
2024-2025: Named to Honorable Mention All-Region team for soccer. On track to be a Puma Scholar-Athlete & NJCAA Academic Award nominee
Nitschke
Major: Criminal Justice
2024-2025: Placed 4th at NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Pole Vault.
Qualified for NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Pole Vault.

Sophomore Student-Athlete of the Year: Emily Quigg (Softball) and Logan Yule (Baseball).

Major: General Studies
2023-2024: 2nd Team NJCAA All-Academic & Puma Scholar-Athlete
2024-2025: Leads the team with 136 AB, 33 runs, 51 hits, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 12 stolen bases and a .375 batting average.
Graduated from PVCC with Associate in Arts in December 2024.

Major: General Studies
2023-2024: 3rd Team NJCAA All-Academic & Puma Scholar-Athlete
2024-2025: Leads the team with 54 RBI and 5 triples. Has 5 homeruns, 10 doubles, 55 hits, and is currently batting .318. Became first Puma in the Baseball program history to hit for the cycle on April 16 vs. Phoenix College. Was named Second-Team All-Region/ACCAC and is a Gold Glove nominee for Outfield.
On track to be a Puma Scholar-Athlete & NJCAA Academic Award nominee.
Will graduate in May with his Associates in Arts.
