The Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams competed at the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships May 19-21 in Hutchinson, KS. The men finished in 12th place with 23 points while the women placed 23rd with seven points.
On the men’s side, the Puma’s were national runner-up in two events, the 4x800m Relay and the Javelin. The 4x800m relay team consisting of Nathan Pavelchik, Gilbert Olivas, Pierce Vittone, and Tyler Carreon finished 2nd with a time of 7:40.00. Reigning National Champion Jesse Avina finished 2nd in the Javelin with a throw of 57.59m. All five men earned NJCAA All-American honors.
On the women’s side, Audrey Armstrong finished 3rd in the Hammer Throw with a school record breaking throw of 48.04m. Armstrong earned NJCAA All-American honors with her finish.

Luis Diaz Bojorquez Jr. – Men’s Shot Put, 6th place (16.16m)
Gilbert Olivas – Men’s 1500m, 8th place (4:01.46)
Lacey Fron – Women’s 10,000m run, 8th place (40:45.96)
