After posting their first loss of the season to Scottsdale, the Pumas rebounded and defeated GateWay and South Mountain to bring their season record to 5-1.

Saturday, September 17 – GWCC 1, PVCC 2

The Pumas defeated GateWay for the second time this season, this time in conference play.

Harlee Kuntz got the Pumas on the board first when she scored in the 24^th minute of the game (Shayla Mobo). GWCC scored in the 40^th minute to tie the game going into halftime. The Pumas took the lead for good in the 70^th minute when Jayla Patrick (Justyne Underwood) scored her fifth goal of the season to put the Pumas up 2-1.

Underwood led the Pumas with five shots. Isabelle Herrera started the game in goal and had four saves on the day.

Tuesday, September 20 – SMCC 0, PVCC 5

The Pumas took on South Mountain for the first time this season and defeated the Cougars 5-0.

Jayla Patrick scored the first goal for the Pumas in the 29^th minute of the game (Harlee Kuntz). Shayla Mobo scored from 40 yards out in a perfectly placed ball to give the Pumas a 2-0 lead. The Pumas finished out the first half with another goal by Patrick (Justyne Underwood), her seventh of the season, in the 42^nd minute.

The Pumas didn't waste much time to continue the scoring in the second half, with Kuntz scoring two consecutive goals in the 51^st minute (Joey Dunn) and again in the 53^rd minute (Brianna Kanter).

The Pumas next take on Phoenix College on Friday, September 23 at 7:00pm at Phoenix College.
