TAYLOR CROWDER TIED FOR 8TH AFTER FIRST ROUND
Coach Palmer brought two golfers to the Estrella Mountain Invite at the Sundance Golf Club (5,824 yards) in Buckeye, AZ on Thursday.  The tournament was hosted by Estrella Mountain Community College with four teams competing.

On a chilly, windy day Taylor Crowder tied for 8th after the first round.  She shot an impressive 84 on a very difficult course.

Coach Palmer stated, "I was very happy with Taylor's play.  She was mentally tough, physically tough, and she controlled her emotions very well.  It was very important to keep the ball in play, so she played the course smart. She avoided the trouble and knocked it on the greens in a good place. Playing in tough conditions, this should really boost her confidence in her ability to compete at an elite level. Tomorrow will be fun to watch."

Stephanie Beasley competed in her first college tournament and successfully finished.  "It was important that she played so that in the future she will be comfortable in tournaments," Coach Palmer said.

The Pumas are back at it Friday for the final round at Sundance.
