WOMEN'S GOLF HITS THE LINKS FOR FALL SEASON FOR FIRST TIME

Puma Women's Golf head coach James Palmer, who took over the team in August, is leading the way this fall golf season with freshman student-athlete Taylor Crowder. While coach Palmer continues to recruit women for the spring season, Crowder will compete as an individual this fall.

“This year will be the first time the Pumas compete in the fall and it is exciting to have Taylor on the women’s golf squad,” said coach Palmer.

Crowder competed September 19 and 20 in the South Mountain Classic at Aguila Golf Course.  Her first round was not her best, however, on day two Crowder came back to shoot her personal best tournament round.  She shot a solid 81 for the day.

Coach Palmer was with Crowder most of her round on day two and had this to say, “Taylor has tons of potential to compete at a very high level.  She is one of the hardest working and toughest competitors out there.  During her round today, she really got her tempo smoothed out making some very good shots with her wedges. Off the tee box, Taylor has plenty of distance.  After working with her on putting, I can see that her confidence has increased and her distance control is near perfect. It’s the little mistakes, but those are easy to clean up.  I am excited for her and to help her progress in her golf.”
