With the 2023 season coming to a close, the Pumas came in hot over the weekend taking two from GateWay CC.
Game 1: PVCC 6, GWCC 1
The Pumas opened up scoring in the first inning. Jazlyn Romero homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Dawn Morris got the start for the Pumas. The pitcher allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero.
PVCC added a second home run when Estevannie Rojas went deep in the sixth inning.
The Pumas collected six hits. Romero and Rojas both had two hits to lead the Pumas.
Game 2: PVCC 3, GWCC 0
Holly Myers had all the right stuff on Saturday for the PUmas, allowing zero runs and besting GWCC by a score of 3-0.
Myers led things off in the circle for the Pumas. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing zero runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
The Pumas launched one home run on the day. Estevannie Rojas put one out in the sixth inning.
Rojas went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead PV in hits.
