The Pumas Take Tough Blow From South Mountain

The Pumas struggled to get their offense going on Tuesday, getting easily dispatched by South Mountain, 13-4 in five innings.

Jordyn Cromer toed the rubber for the Pumas. The pitcher surrendered 12 runs on nine hits over three innings, striking out two. Jazlyn Romero threw one inning in relief.

The Pumas smacked one home run on the day when Leticia Lopez hit a long ball in the second inning.

The Pumas tallied seven hits in the game. Maegan Viramontes and Romero collected two hits each to lead the Pumas.

Paradise Valley Struggles to Find Groove Against South Mountain

The Pumas couldn't keep up with the Cougars and fell 13-5 in game two on Tuesday.

The highlight of the day for the Pumas came when they scored four runs in the fifth inning on a grand slam by Maegan Viramontes

Jazlyn Romero was in the circle for the Pumas. The righty surrendered 13 runs on five hits over five and one-third innings, striking out two.

The Pumas hit two home runs on the day. Emily Viramontes had a long ball in the fourth inning while her sister Maegan Viramontes went deep in the fifth.

M. Viramontes, Ashley Herman, Maegan Ford, and E. Viramontes each collected one hit to lead the Pumas.
