Yavapai Runs Away with Early Lead in Victory

The Pumas watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-1 loss to Yavapai on March 27.

The Pumas struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Yavapai, giving up 11 runs.

Jordyn Cromer was in the circle for the Pumas. Cromer surrendered seven runs on nine hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Jazlyn Romero threw one and one-third innings in relief.

Emily Viramontes led the Pumas with one hit in three at bats.

Game 2: YC 8, PVCC 1

Pumas Ca Not Catch Up to Yavapai

The Pumas fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-1 loss to Yavapai in game two of the doubleheader. 

The Pumas struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Yavapai, giving up eight runs.

Reyna Gil started the game for the Pumas. The pitcher surrendered six runs on seven hits over five and one-third innings, striking out one. Jazlyn Romero threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

Thalia Higuera went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pumas in hits.

Game 1: SCC 6, PVCC 1

Early Lead for Scottsdale Seals Fate for Paradise Valley

The Pumas fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-1 loss to Scottsdale in game one of the afternoon.   

Jordyn Cromer started the game for the Pumas. The righty went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out three. Jazlyn Romero threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Maegan Ford went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pumas in hits.

Game 2: SCC 12, PVCC 3 (5)

Pumas Stymied by Scottsdale, Lose 12-3

Nothing came easy for the Pumas in game two of their doubleheader with Scottsdale as they fell 12-3.

The Pumas got their offense started in the first inning when Emily Viramontes lined out, scoring one run.

After the Artichokes scored one run in the top of the fifth, the Pumas answered with one of their own when Thalia Higuera singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Jazlyn Romero toed the rubber for the Pumas. The righty lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs.  Reyna Gil threw one inning out of the bullpen.

The Pumas tallied one home run on the day. Leticia Lopez had a homer in the second inning.

Gil, Higuera, and Lopez each collected one hit for the Pumas.
