The Pumas Drop Game to Eastern Arizona After Late Score

The Pumas stayed in it until the end, but EAC pulled away late in an 11-7 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at seven with EAC batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored two runs for the Gila Monsters.

The Pumas collected eight hits and EAC had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Pumas tied things up at seven when Ashley Herman drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Pumas scored four runs in the fifth inning. The Pumas put the pressure on, led by walks by Peyton Krause and Herman, a single by Jordyn Cromer, and a sac fly by Thalia Higuera.

Cromer led things off on the rubber for the Pumas. Cromer surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out two.

The Pumas launched one home run on the day when Jazlyn Romero hit a long ball over the center field fence, PV's "monster," in the fourth inning.

Romero led the Pumas with two hits in three at bats.

 
Game 2: EAC 14, PVCC 2 (5)

Eastern Arizona Runs Away with Early Lead in Victory

The Pumas watched game two slip away early and couldn't recover in a 14-2 loss to EAC on Tuesday. 

The Pumas struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing EAC, giving up 14 runs.

Jazlyn Romero started the game for the Pumas. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing 14 runs on 13 hits.  Reyna Gil and Jordyn Cromer entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Maegan Viramontes, Cromer, Emily White, Leticia Lopez, Maegan Ford, Gil, and Thalia Higuera each managed one hit for the Pumas.
