MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS SCOTTDALE IN OVERTIME

Puma Men's Soccer opened up their conference schedule by defeating Scottsdale 3-2 in overtime on Saturday night.

The Pumas were down early, trailing 2-0 at halftime. The Artichokes scored on a penalty kick in the 15th minute and again in the 44th minute of the game, with 18 seconds left in the half.

The Pumas fought back in the second half, with Cesar Sworan scoring back-to-back goals to tie the game up at 2-all. Sworan scored in the 63rd minute (Jalen Pasillas) and again in the 71st minute (Mark Dobos) to force the game into overtime. In the 98th minute of the game, Alvin Johnson scored to give the Pumas the 3-2 win.

The Pumas had 23 shots on the night, with Sworan leading the team with five shots and two goals.

The Pumas will take on GateWay on Saturday, September 17 at 4:30pm at Eagle Park.
