MEN'S SOCCER MOVES UP TO 18TH IN NJCAA NATIONAL POLL
The Puma Men's Soccer team made their first appearance in the NJCAA National Poll at 18 after going 1-0-1 on the week.

On Tuesday, September 21, the Pumas faced the nationally-ranked Yavapai Roughriders. The Roughriders came to play as they opened up a 2-0 lead in the first half but couldn't handle the power of Pumas! After scoring two unanswered goals in the second half of their home opener, the Pumas came away with the tie. Preston Romeiro opened up the scoring for the PVCC in the second half with a well-played corner kick that involved John Tapia Flores and Angel Flores.  Luis Angulo cemented the tie with a strike in the 74th minute.

On Saturday, September 25, PVCC returned to the home pitch to take on Gateway in the second game of a seven-game home stand. The afternoon kickoff saw three different Pumas score two goals each. Alex Huguez, Moises Velazquez, and Enrique Arellano all found the back of the net twice. Romeiro also scored, giving him two goals on the week.

Up next for the Pumas will be Phoenix College on Saturday at 2:30 at home.
