The Men's Soccer team moves on to the semifinals of the NJCAA Region 1 Division II men's soccer playoffs havng scored a flurry of goals in the second half of their round one matchup 8-1 win against Glendale.
GCC got on the scoreboard first in the 25th minute after a defensive mistake by the Pumas. It was not until late in the first half that the Pumas tied it up when Luis Angulo received a pass from Enrique Arellano to. Arellano scored what would prove to be the game-winner in the 43rd minute. Arellano opened up the second half with his second goal. The Pumas would go on to score five more goals to complete the victory.
Luis Angulo (2), Enrique Arellano (2), Preston Romeiro, Kristian Bielicki, Jalen Pasillas, and Brain Richardson all scored for PVCC. Luis Villegas and Jesus Morales split time in goal for the win.
The Pumas move to 5-5 on the season and will play at Phoenix College on Thursday, May 13 in the semifinal round. Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm.
