PUMA SOCCER BEATS GECKOS
Puma Men's Soccer played under the lights on Thursday when they handidly beat the GateWay Geckos 6-1 at the Santos Soccer Complex.
 
Rodrigo Olguin opened the scoring strong for the Pumas in the 13th minute with a strike from 22 yards out.  Late in the first half, Olguin assisted on a long-distance goal from Danny Robertson
 
The Pumas scored two quick goals in the first five minutes of the 2nd half.  Daniel Coogan found the back of the net with another long-distance strike, and Kelvin Guerrero tucked away a rebound.  GWCC got on the scoreboard with a well struck free-kick to make the score 4-1 in the 53rd minute.  To answer, Guerrero scored his second goal of the night on a pass from Robert Ellingson, and Kevin Ortiz finished the scoring for the Pumas on an assist from Coogan late in the game
 
Joshua Hubbs and Jesus Morales split time between the pipes, with Hubbs getting credit for the win.
 
The Pumas will take the weekend off and return to action next Thursday at home when they take on Arizona Western. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00pm.
