PUMAS FINISH FOURTH IN FINAL FALL TOURNAMENT

PUMAS FINISH FOURTH IN FINAL FALL TOURNAMENT
The first fall season for the Pumas Golf team is in the books.  The Thunderbird Fall Preview was held at Dobson Ranch Golf Course hosted by Mesa Community College on November 14 and 15.  There was a strong field of seven teams.

The Puma Men's team finished in 4th place shooting a very impressive 287 (1 under par) on the final round.  Team captain, Beau Autery, tied for 4th place shooting five under par.  Owen Slusher helped lead the team with a solid and consistent tournament shooting two under par placing him in 9th place as an individual. Additionally, after a tough first day, Andrew Polaha had a very crucial bounce back round of even par (72) for the final round.

Isaac Ruiz was +8, Andrew Polaha +9, Quincy Robert +13, and Davis Mack +24.

Coach James Palmer stated, "I was very happy for our first fall season.  The team made history competing in PVCC's first fall season and they played very well.  For only coaching them a short time, they really proved that hard work pays off.  Many of the guys are relatively new to the game but they played hard and kept their minds in a good place.  It is a great learning experience for all of them.  You can learn from your mistakes and also see how much more work you need to do to get to the next level. I am looking forward to continuing our progress and shooting for those red numbers."

After the two fall tournaments the Pumas competed in, Golf Stat has them ranked the 8th NJCAA Division II program in the country going into the Spring season! You can see the full rankings HERE

The Pumas' spring season will begin in February.
