PUMA BASEBALL FALLS TO GLENDALE

Puma Baseball's 14-game win streak (14-4)  came to an end over the weekend when they dropped two games to Glendale Community College.

Friday, February 23: PVCC 2, GCC 5

The Pumas fell 5-2 to Glendale in game one of the two-game series, despite out-hitting the Gauchos 13 to 10.

The Pumas opened up scoring in the third after Jackson Babione hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Cayden Collins took the loss for the Pumas. Collins went seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits, striking out five and walking one.

The Pumas had 13 hits in the game. Drew Kaatz, Cooper Holtorf, and Josh Chairez each collected multiple hits. Jake Alwine and Babione each drove in one run.

Saturday, February 24: PVCC 3, GCC 6

Despite out-hitting the Gauchos nine to seven, the Pumas fell to GCC in the second game 6-3.

Cole Dickson took the loss for the Pumas. The right-hander went three innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out five and walking two.

The Pumas piled up nine hits in the game. Isaac McNair-Seigler seized on his opportunities at the plate, leading the Pumas with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. 

The Pumas will travel to Chandler-Gilbert on Tuesday, February 27 for their next game.
