BASEBALL DEFEATS GLENDALE

Puma Baseball (12-7) defeated Glendale in their two-game series.  

Tuesday, February 12: PVCC 3, GCC 1

The Pumas beat GCC in a low scoring affair.

Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound, but the Pumas defeated GCC 3-1. Puma pitchers allowed just five hits.

Sam Lachot earned the win for the Pumas. Lachot lasted five innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven. Logan Birch and Mason Brunson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out in relief. Brunson recorded the last five outs to earn the save for the Pumas.

Cole Williams led the team offensively going 2-4.

Thursday, February 23: PVCC 7, GCC 4

The Pumas weathered a push by Glendale in the ninth inning where the Pumas coughed up three runs, but still won 7-4 in game two of the series.

The Pumas fired up the offense in the first inning, when Chaz Clemons drew a walk, scoring one run.

Liam O'Brien earned the victory on the hill for the Pumas. The pitcher went six innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out seven. Logan Birch, Adam Koski, and Luke Dickson all put in work in relief, steering their team towards the victory. Dickson recorded the last out to earn the save for the Pumas.

The Pumas socked one home run on the day when Carson Craig hit a two-run shot in the sixth.

The Pumas totaled nine hits in the game. Austin Corbett, Clemons, and Rob Liddington each collected two hits to lead the team offensively.
