The Pumas defeated the Grand Canyon University Club team 7-5.
Zach Rogers earned the win for the Pumas. The righty went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out five. Trevor Baugh recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Pumas.
CJ Molina, Tyler McCaughey, Gavin Acosta, Carson Craig, Anthoine Shell, and Anthony Marcon each collected one hit in the game.
Saturday, February 19: ACU JV 1, PVCC 14 (7)
The Pumas won big over Arizona Christian University JV 14-1 in seven innings.
The offense was fired up for the Pumas in the first inning. Derek Wood drove in one when he singled. The Pumas tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Pumas was led by Gavin Acosta, Tyler McCaughey, Anthoine Shell, and Ty Nelson, who all drove in runs. Puma Kelly Corl launched two home runs on the day, with dingers in the second and fourth innings.The Pumas tallied 14 hits in the game. Ike George, Corl, Wood, and Acosta each managed two hits to lead the Pumas.
Kadden Drew took the win for the Pumas. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out four.
Tuesday, February 22: GCC 1, PVCC 5
The Pumas took home a 5-1 victory over Glendale.
The Pumas got on the board in the second inning when Cole Williams drove in one on a single.
Jackson Brenna earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Pumas. The lefty went six innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven. Tyler Bribiescas and Trevor Baugh entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Pumas smacked one home run on the day when Carson Craig put one out in the eighth inning. The Pumas collected eight hits. Derek Wood, Ike George, and Craig all managed multiple hits for the Pumas. Wood lead the Pumas with three hits in five at bats.
