PUMAS FALL TO SCOTTSDALE

Tuesday, February 15: SCC 5, PVCC 2

The Puma's lost a heartbreaker against the Artichokes when they lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Scottsdale batting in the top of the eighth when the Artichokes brought in three runs on a homerun.  

Jackson Brenna started the game for the Pumas. Brenna allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight. Luke Dickson, Tyler Bribiescas, and Connor Dougal each contributed in relief.

Carson Craig led the Pumas with two hits in three at bats. Defensively, the Pumas were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Carson Bembridge made the most plays with 11.

 

Wednesday, February 16: SCC 11, PVCC 4

The Pumas couldn't keep up with Scottsdale as they fell 11-4 in the second game of the series.

The Pumas notched three runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by a single by Cole Williams, a sac fly by Chaz Clemons, and an error on a ball put in play by Derek Wood.

The Artichokes put the game away when they scored three runs in the eighth inning.  

Sam Lachot was on the hill for the Pumas. The righty surrendered five runs on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out five and walking one. Alex Galvin, James Webster, Michael Modrick, and Luke Dickson each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, two-thirds of an inning, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Offensively, the Pumas totaled eight hits. Williams and Carson Craig each managed multiple hits for the team. Williams went three for four at the plate to lead the Pumas.
