KURT BROWN TO LEAD PUMA GOLF

Puma Athletics is pleased to announce Kurt Brown as the head coach of  Puma Men's and Women's Golf.  Brown takes over the programs this season and will lead the Pumas. 

Brown currently serves as the Director of Instruction at Encanto Golf Course in Phoenix.  Prior to working at Encanto, Brown worked for Camelback Golf Club, The Crosswater Club (OR) and Manistee National Golf Corse and Resort (MI).

Some of Brown's previous accolades include: nominated for PGA Southwest Section Teacher of the year (2021 & 2022) and nominated for PGA Southwest Youth Player Development Award (2022).

Originally from Michigan, Brown was introduced to the game of golf by his father, at age four. Kurt competed in numerous junior tournaments in Michigan, playing on the Meijer and PowerBilt Junior Tours. Kurt spent his high school summers working at Flint Golf Club as a caddy.

Brown received his Bachelor's in Marketing and Professional Golf Management from Ferris State University (MI).  While attending Ferris State, he had the opportunity to complete internships at various facilities across the country, including Michigan, Oregon and Arizona.

Brown received his certification of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and is now a Level 3 TPI Golf coach, and Level 2 Power Coach. Brown has worked under top PGA instructors, including Jason Witczak, Craig Bunker, and Albert Murdock.

The Pumas will hit the greens right away and work towards competing in fall tournaments this November.  The 2024 NJCAA/ACCAC season will commence in February.
