Previously, Palmer was the Executive Director & Head Golf Coach at Combine Academy in Charlotte, NC as well as the Senior Golf Advisor and Golf Coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. Combine and IMG are international sports & college-prep boarding schools. Palmer's former golfers have gone on to compete on PGA and LPGA tours and elite collegiate golf programs.
Palmer also served as the golf coach at Johnson & Wales University in Miami, FL. Palmer took his team to the NAIA Nationals during the 2009-10 season, coached three NAIA All-Americans, coached 19 players to Top 10 finishes at NAIA and NCAA tournaments, and was named 2009-10 Sun Conference Coach of the Year. Prior to his time as a college coach, Palmer coached at Southwest High School in Minneapolis, MN and at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN.
In addition to his time coaching, Palmer served as the Executive Director for a non-profit organization that provided golf lessons to underprivileged youth. He supervised a staff of 12 PGA professionals, along with five other staff members, who provided lessons to over 600 youth. Palmer has helped hundreds of junior golfers get into college with scholarships. Several of his former golfers have been on the China, Latin America, and Canada PGA Tours.
Many of Palmer's golf clients include former pro athletes, actors, musicians, and other celebrities. He's been able to help them improve their games and find much more enjoyment with their new passion for golf.
In addition to being involved in golf, Palmer has over 20 years of teaching experience in K-12 schools and higher education.
Palmer played golf in college at Macalester College in MN, and has competed in pro tournaments. Palmer has his Master's in Education from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and his Doctorate of Education from University of St. Thomas.
