PUMA ATHLETICS MOURNS LOSS OF ASSISTANT COACH

PUMA ATHLETICS MOURNS LOSS OF ASSISTANT COACH
Puma Athletics and Puma Tennis were saddened to learn of the passing of their assistant coach Randy Babick last month.  The teams had recently finished competing in their respective NJCAA national championships when they learned of Coach Babick's passing.

Coach Babick joined the Puma men's and women's Tennis program as an assistant coach during the 2021 season and quickly became an asset to the student-athletes, head coach Jim Paajanen, and the athletics department.  In addition to coaching, Randy was a member of the PVCC community for two decades as a member of the college's Technology department.

Athletics Director Christina Hundley said, "Randy was a valued member of the Puma Tennis program.  His time, effort and care for our student-athletes has made us better.  This year, Randy supported us as we qualified for both the Women's and Men's NJCAA National Championships!  We are grateful for his passion and coaching."

Puma Athletics sends its condolences to Randy's family and would like to take the opportunity to thank them for sharing Randy's time with our student-athletes and program.

PVCC will be holding a Celebration of Life for Randy in July.  The celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:30am in PVCC's Center for Performing Arts.  If you wish to attend, please RSVP by July 9 to terribabick@gmail.com
