BLAND NAMED NJCAA DIVISION II MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2024 NJCAA Division II Cross Country Post Season Awards on November 13 following the conclusion of the 2024 NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championship, which were held this past weekend at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, VA.

Puma Jackson Bland was named the NJCAA Division II Men's Cross Country National Athlete of the Year after winning the individual title at the NJCAA DII National Championship on November 9. Bland crossed the finish line of the 8,000m course with a time of 25:14.0, over 13 seconds ahead of the second place runner. Bland is the second consecutive NJCAA individual national champion for the Pumas, following Nathan Pestka who won the NJCAA title and the USTFCCCA award in 2023.
