PUMAS UNABLE TO HOLD OFF GLENDALE

Game 1: GCC 7, PVCC 2

Pumas Fall to Gauchos

The Pumas captured the lead in the second inning against the Gauchos when Derek Wood drove in one with a single.

The Pumas were unable to hold the Gauchos at bay when GCC took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning.

Mason Dillow started the game for the Pumas. The right-hander lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and seven runs while striking out six. Michael Modrick threw three and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Tyler McCaughey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pumas in hits. The Pumas were sure-handed defensively and didn't commit a single error. Jace Caito-DeRosier made the most plays with nine.

 

Game 2: GCC 3, PVCC 1

GCC Bests PV in Close Game

Both teams were strong on the mound in the second game on Saturday, but GCC was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over the Pumas. 

Brock Arnold started the game for PV and recorded eight outs. The lefty went two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out five. 

Danny Carpenter, Brady Welch, and Logan Birch each contributed in relief for the Pumas.

Ryan Romero, CJ Molina, Ike George, and Cade Kennedy each managed one hit.
