Game 1 - Pima 8, PVCC 4

Early Lead For Pima Seals Pumas' Fate 

The Pumas fell behind early and could not come back in an 8-4 loss to Pima on Tuesday. 

Pima scored one in the top of the second and top of the third. They then put up five in the top of the fifth and one more in the top of the sixth.  

PV sparked a comeback putting up four runs in the seventh inning, but fell short at the end. The big inning was driven by a single by Tyler McCaughey and a home run by Marcus Maldonado.

David Enriquez started the game for the Pumas. Enriquez allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Michael ModrickZach Rogers, and Logan Birch each contributed in relief.

PV scattered seven hits in the game. McCaughey and Ike George all managed multiple hits. McCaughey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the squad.

 

Game 2 - Pima 5, PVCC 2

Late Score Costs Pumas Against Pima

The Pumas lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat to Pima on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Pima batting in the top of the eighth when a solo home run put Pima ahead.

Colton McIntosh started the game for the Pumas. McIntosh surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out three. Danny CarpenterColby Davis, and Brady Welch each contributed in relief.

PV racked up four hits. Ike George and Jace Caito-DeRosier each collected two.
